Systems Development

Basic Program Overview:
Dynamic organization providing a wide range of enterprise level technical, collaboration, and knowledge management centric services to a variety of Army stakeholders requires experienced Systems Administrator. This is a full time position working directly with the customer Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD supporting the Communications-Electronics Research, Development and Engineering Center (CERDEC).

General Responsibilities:
• Provide primarily Windows based Systems Administration support
• Manage Domain/Active Directory, application and database servers (to include shares, permissions, IIS, Tomcat, VPN, DNS, group policies, domain controllers, member servers and resource management)
• Manage product software upgrades/updates for compliance (Java, Tomcat)
• VMware ESXi Server Administration (to include creating/updating VM templates, build new servers as needed, manage resource allocation on ESXi host, configure services on various VMs to support customer products
• Coordinate with DoD/Army Network team to configure external services such as Reverse Proxy, DNS, certificate requests, ACAS scans and resolve issues with connectivity, performance of servers managed
• Coordinate with hosting providers to troubleshoot connectivity issues and also network configuration changes/updates
• Manage ACAS Scans/IAVA Compliance/McAfee HBSS/WSUS Server (Approve and manage updates using Microsoft WSUS, and ensure clients are updated and compliant in ePO)
• Deploy, test, and troubleshoot products (usually in coordination with developers)
• Support for Development Environments (configure services as required to meet the needs of the Development Team, stand up new servers, decommission/phase out old, unneeded servers, integrate with developers to test and troubleshoot software, hardware network, and performance issues)
• Build, maintain, and support all developer workstations.
Mandatory Skills Requirement:
• Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain an Interim Secret clearance
• Proven professional systems administration experience supporting government or commerical client
• Proven ability to participate in the analysis of IT and business issues
• Adhere to information security standards and pratices
• Ability to multitask and set priorities
• Ability to complete complex tasks and assignments on schedule and report status updates as necessary
Other Skills Preferred:
• Professional drive to maintain technical skill sets and certifications in alignment with trends and position requirements
• CompTIA Security+ certification
• Microsoft certifications

Job Requirements

Requires Bachelors degree (in Computer Science or related field) or equivalent, and five to seven years of related experience.
