Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, mission Senior Principal Information Systems Security Engineer, in Chantilly, VA area, with strong Customer relationships. ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to join our small team in Chantilly, VA. As part of a team the selected candidate will be responsible for the design, development, testing and maintaining of a secure reference architecture that is updated on a regular schedule. The reference architecture is provided to our mission partners for implementation and operation. The selected candidate must work with mission partners to help troubleshoot and provide technical guidance for implementation.

The selected candidate will ensure that RMF Cybersecurity requirements are effectively integrated into the reference architecture through purposeful security engineering, design, development, implementation and Continuous Monitoring. The ISSE will work as a team with the System Engineer to insure security practices are part of the overall design and approach.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Define, plan, design, and evaluate reference architecture
  • Provide solutions for and implement Risk Management Framework (RMF) security controls
  • Provide technical support to mission partners implementing the reference architecture
  • Perform requirements analysis, design, and integration for complex software applications and collaboration infrastructures
  • Conduct assessment testing and reporting in accordance with the RMF and NIST 800-53; identifies deficiencies (POA&M) and provides recommendations for solutions
  • Participate in the change management process and assess security impact of proposed changes
  • Write implementation and design documents describing how security features are implemented

Position Requirements:

  • Requires Bachelor's degree or equivalent and ten to twelve years related experience or Master's degree with seven to nine years of experience field mathematics, telecommunications, electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science.
  • DoD 8570 IAM-I: CISSP certification
  • Nice to Have:
  • ITIL Foundations
  • MCSA/MCSE
  • VMWare experience

Security Requirements:
Active TS/SCI clearance required
