Assist Launch Enterprise Systems Directorate (LE) SE&I Risk Management Lead and Gov't risk owners at the Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC), Los Angeles AFB in El Segundo, CA. The duties of this position include, but are not limited to, supporting the monthly EELV Risk Management Battle Rhythm, which consists of the Risk Working Group (RWG) meeting, the Risk Management Board (RMB) meeting, and the Monthly Acquisition Review (MAR) meeting. The LE SE&I Risk Management Specialist is required to have relevant experience or training in the following areas:
Current DoD risk, issue, and opportunity management guidance
Air Force risk management, mission assurance, and system safety requirements
Commercial risk management, mission assurance, and system safety standard best practices
DoD systems engineering framework

General Responsibilities:

• Assist Gov't risk owners to properly document identified candidate risks
• Create an Active Risk Manager (ARM) risk record for each identified candidate risk, and update risk records as necessary
• Update the monthly RWG and RMB briefing packages with ARM generated risk records, and upload to the RWG and RMB Livelink folders
• Record and finalize the monthly RMB meeting minutes
• Update the monthly EELV Top Risk briefing charts with ARM generated risk records, and upload to the MAR Livelink folder
• Generate, evaluate, and distribute monthly ARM generated EELV risk management metrics to Gov't risk owners

Mandatory Skills:

• Demonstrated hands-on experience or training in one or more engineering disciplines
• Demonstrated good written and presentation abilities
• Demonstrated self-teaching abilities
• Superior customer interfacing skills at senior levels of management
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic team environment
• Proficiency with MS Office products to include Outlook, Project, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and SharePoint

Other Skills Preferred:

• Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, and effective decision making
• Knowledge of commercial risk management tools, e.g., ARM is highly desirable

Job Requirements

Requires Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business administration, finance or related field and seven to nine years related experience including risk management.
